SWELECT Celebrates 40 Years of Excellence in Renewable Energy
SWELECT Energy Systems Ltd., a pioneer in renewable energy solutions, celebrated its 40th anniversary with a grand event in New Delhi last week. The occasion was graced by Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Honourable Minister, as the Chief Guest, and an esteemed gathering of bureaucrats, officials, and industry leaders.
In his keynote address, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik highlighted the pivotal role of renewable energy in India’s future and commended SWELECT for its significant contributions to the clean energy sector. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and industry to accelerate the nation’s energy transition and achieve sustainability goals.
Tracing its journey, SWELECT started as Numeric in 1984, gaining recognition as India’s No. 1 UPS company since 1996. In 2012, the company transitioned into SWELECT Energy Systems Ltd., focusing on solar energy solutions. This evolution, symbolized as moving from “Power to Energy,” underscores its commitment to sustainability and aligns with India’s renewable energy vision.
Addressing the audience, Mr. R. Chellappan, Managing Director of SWELECT, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders for their unwavering support over the decades. He stated, “This milestone is a proud moment for us at SWELECT. From our early days as Numeric to our evolution into SWELECT, our focus has always been on quality, innovation, and sustainability, with the customer at the center. Currently, we have a 1 GW PV module manufacturing capacity and 0.5 GW of MMS & BOS manufacturing, and we provide EPC and energy sales services. With the support of policymakers and partners, we are set to expand our module manufacturing facility along with a cell line. Over the next three years, we aim to support India’s renewable energy transformation with 2 GW of EPC and IPP projects.”
The event also featured engaging discussions on renewable energy policies, technological advancements, and strategies to address challenges in India’s solar energy transition. It served as a platform for fostering partnerships between the government and industry to advance the country’s clean energy goals.
