Delta Electronics India Starts Local Production of VIVOTEK Cameras
Delta Electronics India has commenced local production of smart surveillance cameras from VIVOTEK, its key security brand, at its manufacturing plant in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The move aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India initiative and aims to strengthen domestic electronics manufacturing and accelerate smart infrastructure development.
“Smart security is an essential pillar in Delta’s intelligent solutions roadmap,” said Hong Wu, General Manager of Delta’s Building Automation Business Group. “By integrating VIVOTEK’s advanced edge AI analytics and robust cybersecurity with Delta’s manufacturing scale in Krishnagiri, we deliver shorter lead times and agile technical support for India’s critical infrastructure, transportation hubs, and commercial sectors.”
“Local production reflects our deep commitment to India’s industrial ecosystem,” added Niranjan Nayak, Managing Director of Delta Electronics India. “Leveraging our world-class facility ensures stringent quality control and cost efficiency, while fostering domestic talent and local suppliers’ capabilities.”
Initial manufacturing focuses on the commercial series, which will be fully compliant with India’s mandatory BIS ER-01 standards. Producing locally significantly cuts spare-parts turnaround times, empowering system integrators to satisfy domestic procurement criteria and actively compete in government and public tenders.
Moving forward, VIVOTEK will widen its portfolio by phasing in mid-to-high-end AI surveillance models tailored for advanced sectors, including smart cities and intelligent transportation systems (ITS), while expanding partner training across India. Concurrently, Delta will scale up Krishnagiri’s manufacturing capacity to fully support VIVOTEK in meeting the country’s surging security infrastructure demand.
