Qlar opens new Pulverizer Test Center in Bengaluru
Qlar (formerly Schenck Process), a global provider of sustainable products and integrated solutions for bulk material applications, has announced the launch of its advanced Test Center in Bengaluru.
The new 3,500-square-foot facility is designed to drive innovation by integrating research, development, and large-scale testing. Qlar stated that the center will further enhance its position as a key provider of intelligent grinding technologies.
The new center allows customers to test materials under real-world conditions, supported by an expert on-site team. Materials such as limestone, coal, petcoke, clinker, slag, bauxite, and talc can be analyzed in full-scale setups to optimize process design.
With a €700,000 investment, Qlar underscores its commitment to technological leadership and sustainable grinding advancements. The facility will drive the development of Advanced Vertical Roller Mills (AVRM) and Rotary Roller Mills (RRM), alongside patented grinding technologies for enhanced efficiency and performance. New mill variants undergo rigorous testing for diverse feeding compositions and grindability factors, ensuring optimal adaptation to industrial applications.
Advanced technologies for a sustainable circular economy
Qlar is driving forward the digitalisation of processes and the use of artificial intelligence in grinding technology. By implementing the CONiQ Monitor, the company offers real-time monitoring at the Test Center, enables predictive maintenance and supports data-driven process optimisation.
“Our customers benefit from precise performance analyses and increased operational reliability of their systems, allowing them to evaluate the efficiency of new grinding technologies before making investment decisions,” comments Rajesh Pathak, Managing Director at Qlar India.
In addition, the Test Center serves as a platform for collaboration with industry and science. It enables partnerships with leading institutions and research facilities to conduct material studies and set new technological benchmarks.
“Our Test Center not only offers individually tailored solutions, but also focuses on sustainable innovations,” explains Ramachandra Rao, Head of R&D and Engineering – Mills at Qlar India. “We see great potential for significantly reducing the industry’s carbon footprint in the development of energy-efficient milling technologies, the use of industrial by-products such as slag and fly ash, and the promotion of a circular economy.”
