Could you kindly elaborate on how Eaton’s business division, stemming from the electrical sector, correlates with the field of Industrial Automation?
Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds business is a component of the legacy Cooper Industries, which was acquired by Eaton in 2012. Over the past three decades, we have been operating in India through our manufacturing facility in Chennai. At this facility, we produce solutions for the process automation industry, specifically tailored for harsh and hazardous environments. These solutions cater to various sectors, including oil and gas, marine (onshore and offshore), petrochemical, paint, and chemical industries, as well as data centers.

Could you provide an overview of the products and solutions Eaton is showcasing at this Automation Expo, especially since this is the first time you are participating in this event?
We have a comprehensive display of our entire product portfolio here, emphasizing our commitment to “Make in India.” Our Chennai facility manufactures all our hazardous and harsh area solutions, including galvanic isolators, intrinsically safe barriers, field bus connectors, and hazardous area connectors.

You mentioned Eaton’s commitment to “Make in India.” Could you elaborate on the specific products and solutions you are producing in India for the Indian industrial segment?
The “Make in India” initiative is of utmost importance to Eaton. We are actively working on several growth initiatives within this program. First, we are expanding our presence in India, currently operating from 20 different locations with over 5800 employees and 7 manufacturing facilities. For our Crouse-Hinds business and the process automation industry, we plan to expand our Chennai facility in alignment with our growth strategy for India.

Secondly, we are investing in employment creation, spanning various vertical roles within the organization. Thirdly, we are channeling resources into research and development for new product innovation. Fourthly, we are focusing on localization, increasing the production of our product line in India. Lastly, we are committed to offering training opportunities for both our customers and employees, as well as Engineering Support Services.

Could you provide an overview of the product line you are showcasing today?
Our product line includes the Eaton MTL series, which consists of Galvanic Isolators, Conditioning Modules, and Zone Barriers. These products are manufactured in Chennai. Additionally, our Chennai plant serves as a Surge Center of Excellence, producing surge protection devices that are designed for India and global markets.

We also have our Explosion-Proof CCTV range on display, featuring cameras and camera stations tailored for harsh and hazardous environments, such as those in the oil and gas sector, both onshore and offshore. These products, along with the associated software and analytics, are Made in India at our Chennai facility.

Eaton’s Crouse-Hinds business products are all aligned with the goals of providing reliability, safety, and efficiency. Whether it’s our CCTV products, MTL series, or lighting products, they are directly linked to our sustainability objectives, offering energy efficiency and explosion-proof capabilities while contributing to safety metrics. These solutions cater to the needs of various industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, marine, and more, emphasizing safety, security, reliability, and uptime.
