Cummins India Expands IT Global Competency Center in Pune
Cummins India has inaugurated its first IT Global Competency Center (GCC) at its India Office Campus in Balewadi, Pune, Maharashtra. The center was officially opened by Earl Newsome, Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Cummins Inc., Annapurna Vishwanathan, Chief Information Officer of Cummins India, and other senior officials.
The establishment of this center is a cornerstone of Cummins’ multi-year IT transformational strategy, aimed at enhancing operational efficiencies and accelerating the time-to-market for its products and services. The GCC will serve as a hub for software engineers, product owners, architects, technology leads, and process experts, fostering innovation across the automobile, engineering research and development (ER&D), manufacturing, and energy sectors.
Notably, the GCC is championing gender diversity, with 55% of its employees being women. Strengthening gender diversity across all tech roles will remain a key focus area for the center.

The GCC will not only provide regular employment but also offer internship programs for young talent and opportunities for veterans, individuals with special needs, women returning from maternity leave, and those re-entering the workforce. Additionally, the center will collaborate with educational institutions to develop future leaders.
