India has the fourth largest wind power installed capacity in the world and the country’s total estimated wind potential is 695 GW. A target of 60 GW was set to be achieved from wind energy by 2022. As of 28 February this year, the total installed wind power capacity was 38.789 GW and more than 8 GW was under implementation making it a total of around 47 GW.
