VDMA Robotomation 2024: Future of Automation & Robotics in Manufacturing
Join in us as we delve into the highlights of the 7th Robotomation Symposium 2024, hosted by VDMA India and VDMA Robotics + Automation in Pune. This highly anticipated B2B event brought together over 175 industry leaders to discuss the future of robotic automation in manufacturing. Hear from experts like Rajesh Nath, MD of VDMA India; Anne Wendel, Director of the Machine Vision Group at VDMA Robotics + Automation; and Martin Scharfe, Head of Global Sales at jumavis GmbH, as they share their latest advancements and insights on trends shaping the future of manufacturing.
Insights from Rajesh Nath
Rajesh Nath, emphasized the pivotal role of automation in India’s manufacturing growth. “At the Robotomation Seminar of VDMA, we have almost about 13 German companies who would be presenting their technology. Automation as we know is very important for the manufacturing industry. And with India’s growth happening in the manufacturing sector, as we strive to reach our $1 trillion from the manufacturing segment, automation and robotics would play an important role. And the presence of a large number of German companies in this sector would surely help the Indian manufacturers to get the cutting edge when they are talking about manufacturing and technology. So, we are hopeful that this seminar will bring the user industry with the technology provider closer together.”
Expert Views from Anne Wendel
Anne Wendel, Director of the Machine Vision Group at VDMA Robotics + Automation, highlighted the global and local impacts of robotics. “I am delighted to be here for the VDMA Robotomation Symposium in India. It is about discussing the newest trends and developments in robotics and automation here in India and convincing more and more customers to use robotics. So, looking at the global market for industrial robots, so that is the only available figures we have out of the package of robotics and automation. So, looking at the global installation for robots now, we see roughly 50,000 robots being installed every year, roaming countries, working worldwide, and major customers’ countries. It is, of course, China in Asia that is the driver of the growth. So, in 2022, every other robot will be installed in China. However, India is picking up. So, in 2022, roughly 4,000 new robots were sold here in India. So, I am very happy to be here at the VDMA Robotomation Symposium and to see also how technology is being discussed here.”
Martin Scharfe’s Impressions
Martin Scharfe, Head of Global Sales at jumavis GmbH, praised the event’s organization and insightful presentations. “It was a very nice event here. It was very interesting, very well organized. It gave me a very good overview about the Indian machinery market, what is happening here, what is the status. Also, there were quite good information, new information for me. I liked it and next time I think I will join again.”
Conclusion
The VDMA Robotomation Symposium 2024 successfully highlighted the transformative potential of automation and robotics in manufacturing. With insights from industry experts and participation from leading companies, the event underscored the importance of technological integration in achieving manufacturing excellence. As India progresses towards its ambitious manufacturing goals, events like these play a crucial role in bridging the gap between technology providers and users, fostering innovation and growth in the sector.
