Transrail Reports 5% Revenue Growth in Q1 FY27; Order Book Crosses ₹16,000 Cr

Mumbai: Transrail Lighting Limited has reported a resilient financial performance for the first quarter of FY27, registering steady growth in both revenue and profitability despite geopolitical uncertainties and supply chain disruptions. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company recorded a 5% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations to ₹1,736 crore, while profit after tax (PAT) rose 3% to ₹108 crore. The company also achieved an EBITDA margin of 11.7%, exceeding its management guidance of 11%.

The company attributed its performance to disciplined project execution, operational excellence and close monitoring of supply chain challenges. During the quarter, EBITDA stood at ₹203 crore compared to ₹200 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while profit before tax (PBT) remained largely stable at ₹144 crore. PAT margin stood at 6.2%, reflecting sustained profitability despite a dynamic business environment.

One of the key highlights of the quarter was the commissioning of Transrail’s Butibori tower manufacturing facility in Nagpur. The new plant, along with capacity augmentation at existing facilities, has significantly enhanced the company’s manufacturing capabilities. According to the company, these investments have doubled its tower manufacturing capacity and will strengthen execution of large-scale infrastructure projects in the coming years.

Transrail also expanded its infrastructure portfolio through the acquisition of Gactel Turnkey Projects, a move aimed at strengthening its cooling tower EPC capabilities. In addition, the company marked its entry into the Australian market with a monopole supply project, extending its global footprint to six continents and reinforcing its international presence.

The order inflow remained robust during the quarter. Transrail secured fresh orders worth ₹1,034 crore, apart from approximately ₹400 crore worth of projects where it emerged as the lowest bidder (L1). As a result, the company’s unexecuted order book stood at ₹16,035 crore as on June 30, 2026, providing strong long-term revenue visibility across domestic and international markets.

Commenting on the results, Randeep Narang, Managing Director and CEO of Transrail Lighting Limited, said the company had begun FY27 with resilient financial performance despite a challenging geopolitical and economic environment. He noted that investments in manufacturing expansion, execution capabilities and global market development are focused on strengthening the company’s position in delivering complex infrastructure projects while supporting long-term profitable growth.

The company also received several recognitions during the quarter. India Ratings upgraded Transrail’s credit rating to IND AA-/Stable, reflecting its strengthened business and financial profile.

Looking ahead, the company remains optimistic about sustaining its growth momentum, backed by a healthy order pipeline, expanded manufacturing capacity and increasing demand across infrastructure sectors. Management believes the combination of a strong order book, improved execution capabilities and continued investments in manufacturing will position the company for sustained value creation in FY27.

Headquartered in India, Transrail Lighting Limited is a turnkey EPC company focused primarily on power transmission and distribution. With nearly four decades of experience, the company operates in 64 countries across six continents and offers turnkey solutions spanning transmission lines, substations, civil construction, railways, solar, and pole & lighting businesses. Its integrated manufacturing facilities produce galvanised lattice towers, overhead conductors and galvanised monopoles, supported by an accredited tower testing facility.
