NIBE Ltd opens Missiles & Small Arms Complex in Pune
Pune, February 6 – NIBE Limited, a leading manufacturer of critical defence systems, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art Missiles Complex and Precision Machining (Small Arms Complex) facility in Pune. The event also coincided with the celebration of the company’s Foundation Day.
The newly launched facility is equipped with cutting-edge Vertical Machining Centres (VMCs) with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) capabilities, including the Kairos V5 16000 and BMV 50 and 60-plus machines. These high-precision and high-capacity machines are designed for Defence and Aerospace applications and will be instrumental in manufacturing key components for Small Arms systems, such as Light Machine Guns and Assault Rifles, as well as structures for Missiles and Rocket Launchers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and other distinguished ministers including Uday Samant, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, and Mahesh Landge.
Speaking at the event, Ganesh Ramesh Nibe, Founder and Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of NIBE Limited, highlighted the significance of the launch. “Today marked a transformative day not only for NIBE but for the entire defence industry. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the role of such initiatives in India’s self-reliance efforts. “The ‘Make in India’ campaign aims to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property, and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure. Balakrishnan Govind Swamy, Chief Technological and Executive Officer (CT&EO) of NIBE Limited, also underscored the strategic importance of the new facility. “Our state-of-the-art complex is designed to foster innovation, enhance operational capabilities, and contribute significantly to our nation’s security,” he adds.
