MAHATRANSCO CMD receives Greentech Leading Director Award
Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Co. (MAHATRANSCO) Dinesh Waghmare recently received prestigious Greentech Leading Director Award 2021. Maharashtra Energy Minister Dr. Nitin Raut has congratulated Mr Waghmare for this achievement.
The Greentech Leading Director Award – 2021 by New Delhi based Greentech Foundation, was delivered to Mr Waghmare at the hands of Dr. Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Member of Parliament. This award was conferred in the Greentech Leading Director Conclave held at Sonmarg in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The MAHATRANSCO has transmitted supply of 25,800 MW which is a record by its own. Electrical supply which was disrupted due to Nisarg and Tauktae cyclones was restored on a war footing level in a record short time. On 12th October 2020 the electricity was restored in record time which was affected by partial grid failure. During that period, uninterrupted electric supply was provided to the Covid hospitals, quarantine wards, vaccination centers, oxygen and generation plants,” an official statement said.
It adds, “MAHATRANSCO has always adopted modern technology. Earlier, it received Scotch Award for digitization of sub stations and other innovative programs. More and more automated projects are being implemented in MAHATRANSCO with use of modern technology. “
Mr. Waghmare took initiative for using drones for rapid maintenance and repair works of the lines. It is using GIS, Modular GIS, STLS Conductor in many projects that has helped the projects to get completed in time
