India, US Industry Bodies Sign MOUs to Boost Cooperation in Electronics & ICT

Two significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed at The Incredible Inc.50 Awards ceremony, held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, as part of the 25th edition of IndiaSoft. The agreements aim to enhance collaboration between India and the United States, as well as to strengthen the development of India’s electronics industry and international market access for domestic enterprises.

The first agreement, a Letter of Intent between the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), the US India SME Council (USISME Council) and the Indiana Secretary of State on behalf of the State of Indiana, USA, establishes a framework for nurturing business relations in the electronics and computer software sectors, with a focus on the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).  Sandeep Narula, Chairman, Global Outreach, ESC; Elisha Pulivarti, President, USISME and Diego Morales, Secretary of State, State of Indiana, USA signed the MOU.

Under this agreement, the parties will facilitate the exchange of industry information through publications and digital platforms, encourage incoming business delegations, connect enterprises with state development agencies, and jointly organize seminars and workshops. The agreement also includes provisions for advisory services to help businesses navigate industry trends and growth opportunities.

In a separate agreement, Veer Sagar, Chairman on behalf of ESC and V Sriram Kumar, President, on behalf of the Electronics City Industries Association (ELCIA) signed an MOU to promote the development of an electronics industry ecosystem in India and assist electronics manufacturers in accessing international markets. Shivayogi V Ballolli, General Manager of ELCIA, and C S Rawat, Assistant Director of ESC, exchanged the signed MOU. This partnership will support the exchange of industry reports and relevant material, provide mentorship for entrepreneurs, and help electronics and software firms participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets in India and abroad. Additionally, ESC and ELCIA will collaborate on organizing industry-specific seminars and workshops and offer advisory services to guide the growth and expansion of the electronics and software sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, ESC said, “These agreements mark a crucial step toward deeper industry cooperation and enabling greater international engagement for Indian technology firms. We are creating new avenues for innovation, trade, and investment by building stronger linkages with global markets.”

The signing of these MOUs comes at a time when India’s electronics and ICT industries are experiencing rapid growth, driven by increasing digital adoption, government initiatives to boost manufacturing, and rising global demand for technology solutions. With a robust startup ecosystem and a growing presence in semiconductor manufacturing, India is positioning itself as a key player in the global technology landscape.

IndiaSoft 2025, India’s flagship IT and electronics networking event, provided the platform for these strategic collaborations. The event, held from March 19-21 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, brings together technology companies, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders from around the world to explore business opportunities and discuss emerging trends.
