Schmersal Group expands in India, announces new subsidiary for IT & ES
Germany’s Schmersal Group today announced expansion of its footprint in India and launches new subsidiary Schmersal Global Competence Center Pvt Ltd (SGCC). “As part of our global strategy, the goal was to setup a competence centre in Pune for IT and Engineering Services (IT & ES). The overall goal of SGCC is to support IT and Engineering projects of Schmersal Group globally,” the company said issuing a statement.
Schmersal Group offers its customers a comprehensive range of safety switching appliances and systems worldwide for the protection of human life and machines. The Group has a presence in India for almost a decade now through its fully owned subsidiary, Schmersal India Pvt Ltd. (SIPL) with a manufacturing plant, EOU and R&D centre at Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune.
SGCC started its operations from 1st Jan and Mr. Swapnil Kulkarni has been appointed as the Managing Director. Earlier, Mr. Kulkarni was the Head of IT at Schmersal India Pvt Ltd.
At present, SGCC offers IT & ES to the Schmersal Group globally. The IT services comprise of SAP, Infrastructure, Microsoft Technologies, and Custom Application Development. The Engineering Center takes care of firmware, embedded and IIoT technologies to propel the Schmersal Group into a Digital age.
SGCC an offshoot of Schmersal India Pvt Ltd. started with 2 people under SIPL in 2014 and currently has a team of 32 employees.
“SGCC is poised for growth and expansion with aggressive hiring in 2022 with the primary focus on providing top notch service within the Schmersal Group with and end goal to enter the Global IT Services Market as an Industry Leader,” the statement adds.
