Volvo CE unveils its first electric excavator in India
Volvo Construction Equipment launched its first electric construction machine in India. EC 55, an electric compact excavator, was launched during the bauma CONEXPO India 2023 held in Greater Noida recently. On the sidelines of the event, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo CE India, informed mojo4industry that the deliveries of some units will be started by the end of this year.
Explaining Volvo CE’s prowess in the field of emobility, Dimitrov said, “Our stated ambition is that by 2030, 35% of whatever we sell will be electric – whether it is hydrogen electric or fuel cell electric. Our aim is that by 2040, we will be fully switched from the diesel generation to the fuel cell generation.”
