At the Renewable Energy India Expo (REI) 2025, mojo4industry spoke with Ashok Singh, President – Solar, Novasys Greenergy, one of India’s rapidly expanding solar module manufacturers headquartered in Nagpur. With a strong focus on next-generation technologies, domestic value addition, and consistent capacity scaling, Novasys is reinforcing its position in India’s fast-growing renewable manufacturing ecosystem.
In this detailed conversation, Mr. Singh shares insights into the company’s strategic priorities, technology adoption, sustainability focus, and future plans:
Novasys has been expanding consistently. How do you see the next phase of growth unfolding in domestic and global markets?
India continues to be a highly promising market for us, with nearly 90% of our products consumed domestically. Strong local demand has enabled us to grow steadily, and we are currently witnessing a 50–60% annual increase in both production capacity and sales. While India remains our primary focus, around 10% of our efforts are directed toward global markets, where we see gradual but encouraging traction.
With government incentives supporting solar manufacturing, how is Novasys aligning with national Make-in-India initiatives?
We are actively strengthening our backward integration to align with national manufacturing priorities. Our pipeline includes plans for cell manufacturing, followed by wafer production and other critical solar components.
Currently, we have scaled our module manufacturing capacity to 2.4 GW, and we are now setting up 1.2 GW of cell manufacturing in the first phase, followed by another 1.2 GW in the next phase. These steps underline our strong commitment to enhancing India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.
Technology continues to play a major role in quality and competitiveness. What new advancements or upgrades is Novasys adopting?
The solar industry evolves rapidly, and we ensure we remain at the forefront of this transition. Over the years, the market has moved from polycrystalline to mono PERC, and then to mono PERC half-cut. Today, TOPCon technology is leading the way, and we have already adopted it.
Our strong R&D and experienced technical teams closely monitor market trends and ensure we integrate new technologies as soon as they gain market relevance. This helps us remain competitive and deliver high-performance solutions to our customers.
Sustainability and affordability remain key expectations from EPC players and developers. How does Novasys maintain this balance?
Sustainability ultimately ties back to project viability. To support viable projects, we maintain high cost competitiveness without compromising quality. On the technology front, we continue to upgrade our manufacturing lines — including launching TOPCon modules and strengthening our DCR offerings. By improving efficiency and optimizing costs, we ensure that our products support both sustainability goals and the economic expectations of project developers.
What is Novasys focusing on at REI 2025, and how does the expo support your overall objectives?
At REI 2025, our primary objective is strengthening brand visibility within the renewable energy market. With demand at an all-time high, it is essential for us to showcase our latest products and emerging technologies. The platform gives us excellent exposure, allowing customers and partners to understand the innovations we are bringing to the market.
What is your message to customers, partners, and the wider industry through this platform at REI 2025?
My message is simple — choose good-quality products and adopt renewable energy solutions. Solar is the future, and embracing the latest technologies ensures the best ROI. Wherever you find strong returns and reliable performance, invest confidently. Renewable energy is the path forward, and the industry must continue to adopt it wholeheartedly.
