iMerit Launches Automotive AI Center of Excellence in Coimbatore
iMerit, a software-delivered AI data solutions leader, has inaugurated its Automotive AI Center of Excellence in Coimbatore. This marks iMerit’s 12th location globally and reinforces its commitment to supporting India’s rapidly growing automotive AI industry, which is projected to surpass $1 billion in the next five years.
The new center was inaugurated by Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan, Minister of Information Technology and Digital Services, Tamil Nadu, in the presence of employees, senior executives, and other dignitaries. iMerit has already hired over 220 multisensor fusion experts in Coimbatore and plans to double this number by 2025.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan highlighted Tamil Nadu’s efforts to foster growth in technology and innovation. He emphasized the impact of organizations like iMerit in advancing sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, while promoting inclusivity and skill development.
Radha Ramaswami Basu, CEO and Founder of iMerit, noted that the company’s Automotive AI vertical is its largest revenue generator, contributing 60% of its global business. “Coimbatore offers a unique combination of industrial and IT expertise, making it an ideal location for expanding our automotive AI capabilities,” she added.
iMerit’s proprietary AI data platform, Ango Hub, has been pivotal in driving market traction. The company also boasts a 90% employee retention rate and maintains a gender ratio of 50% women in its workforce.

The new center in Coimbatore positions iMerit to capitalize on the global AI data management market, expected to grow at a CAGR of 22.7% between 2024 and 2030 while contributing to India’s growing automotive AI ecosystem.
