Statistics reveal that there is a very high rate of serious injuries and fatal accidents due to improper handling of electricity. Nearly one-third of home electrical fires begin with ignition of wire or cable insulation.

India has witnessed some of the deadliest fires due to faulty electrical connections. In Mumbai alone, around 80 per cent of the fires take place due to this reason.

Therefore, as our structural surroundings are becoming increasingly vulnerable to such incidents due to increasing urbanization and growing population density, there is an urgent need to create awareness about the best electrical safety practices.
