India started facing COVID-19 vaccinations syringe shortage as the demand for syringes was not made by concerned authorities on time. This may derail the country’s COVID-19 vaccinations programme. To understand the gravity of this situation, we interacted with Rajiv Nath, the chairman and managing director of Hindustan Syringes and Medical Devices Limited – India’s largest syringe manufacturer. He is also the President of All India Syringes & Needles Manufacturers Association and forum coordinator of the Association of Indian Medical Device Industry.
