Punjab Police, Hartek Foundation Partner to Empower Youth Through Community Engagement

Chandigarh, June 11, 2025 – In a major step towards youth empowerment and stronger community-police relations, the Punjab Police’s Community Affairs Division (CAD) has partnered with the Hartek Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the Yuva Saanjh Initiative.

This strategic partnership aims to engage vulnerable and at-risk youth across Punjab through structured skill development, counselling, awareness drives, and community-based capacity-building programmes. The Yuva Saanjh Initiative, spearheaded by Punjab Police, seeks to transform community policing by fostering trust, inclusivity, and active participation among the youth.

Under the MoU, Hartek Foundation will provide critical support in standardizing the program’s implementation framework. This includes conducting regular training sessions for police officials and Yuva Saanjh Committee members, ensuring a consistent and impactful rollout across districts. The collaboration aims to lay down a comprehensive roadmap that can be replicated throughout the state for maximum effectiveness.

The programme’s first phase will be piloted in selected districts through the local Saanjh Kendras, under the guidance of the Community Affairs Division. The focus will be on reintegrating vulnerable youth into society by equipping them with employable skills and enabling them to become positive contributors to their communities.

Gurpreet Kaur Deo, IPS, Special DGP (Community Affairs), Punjab Police, stated, “The Yuva Saanjh initiative is about building trust and reconnecting with youth who feel alienated or at risk. Our collaboration with Hartek Foundation will enhance our outreach and deepen our impact in community engagement and youth development.”

Harkirat Kaur, CEO, Hartek Foundation, added, “We are proud to partner with the Punjab Police on this vital initiative. Yuva Saanjh perfectly aligns with our mission of nurturing resilient communities by empowering youth to lead with purpose and make a lasting difference.”

Simarpreet Singh, Executive Director & CEO, Hartek Group, remarked, “This initiative is a trailblazer—bringing together public institutions and industry to uplift and empower the youth of Punjab. Through Yuva Saanjh, we are investing in the future of our communities by equipping young minds with tools for transformation and leadership.”

This partnership marks a significant step toward inclusive, youth-centric development in Punjab, creating pathways for young individuals to thrive through constructive engagement and meaningful opportunities.
