EXOR BULLISH ON INDIA
With more than five decades of global industrial automation expertise, EXOR India is combining time-tested hardware with advanced software and cloud services to deliver Industry 4.0 solutions tailored for the country’s fast-growing manufacturing ecosystem.
“In India, we have grown roughly 30% year-on-year for the last five to six years,” shared Varun Arora, GM – Exor India & Head of Sales – Middle East & China, in an exclusive conversation with mojo4Industry. “With the reliability of our products and the breadth of our platform, we expect India to move to the forefront in the next three to five years.”
One platform, three pillars
At the heart of EXOR’s innovation lies the X Platform, unifying hardware, the JMobile software suite, and CORVINA cloud services. “X Platform is what we are promoting right now to customers looking for Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, edge computing, and any kind of industrial automation and cloud needs,” said Arora.
The platform’s strength is its ability to deliver an integrated ecosystem. “The first thing that sets us apart is our more than five decades of experience in industrial automation,” Arora emphasized. “Our hardware is time-tested, industry-tested, and we keep bringing new technology functionalities with all our hardware. Now, by combining it with cloud services, we are creating a complete environment where industry will benefit from seamless connectivity, analytics, and everything under a single umbrella.”
Retrofit without disruption
The X Platform is designed for both new and existing facilities. “Of course it can be retrofitted,” Arora explained. “Our edge gateways can fetch data from any existing system. We support more than 220 direct protocols for communicating with different types of controllers and field devices. If a device has a communication option, our products can fetch data from it and send it to the cloud—whether it’s our CORVINA cloud or a customer’s own platform.”
For greenfield projects, EXOR offers HMIs with displays or gateways without displays. “Mostly for retrofits, customers prefer gateways because they don’t want to disturb the existing PLC-HMI combination. Without altering that, we can simply add a gateway from EXOR’s portfolio to enable connectivity.”
MSME-ready, value-driven
Recognising the role of MSMEs in India’s manufacturing growth, EXOR has solutions across cost and application needs. “We have an entry-level HMI solution called the eSMART series,” said Arora. “It’s economical compared to our other solutions but still runs on JMobile, our dedicated platform for programming all hardware devices.”
With eSMART, companies can achieve complete functionality—beyond standard visualization and control. “In JMobile, we have facilities like sending emails directly from the HMI, having a video player, a PDF reader and writer, data logging, and customised reports. All of this is available even in eSMART.”
Balanced portfolio across industries
EXOR India serves a wide range of sectors without over-reliance on any single one. “No industry segment contributes more than 20% to our business,” Arora noted. “We cater to pharma, packaging, food processing, defense, and automotive, among others.”
This balanced spread not only mitigates risk but also ensures the company remains agile in responding to varied sectoral needs.
New frontiers: EVs, semiconductors, and defense
Looking ahead, EXOR expects sunrise sectors to drive growth. “Defense is already in motion for us. For EVs, we are trying now and hope to get an entry soon with a substantial project. In semiconductors, we haven’t had a major breakthrough yet, but with the right products coming in the X Platform, we are confident these industries will be part of our portfolio in the coming years.”
India’s growth potential
While EXOR India started later than other global branches, the trajectory is promising. “Currently, out of all EXOR International branches, India might be second last in size, but in the next three to five years, we’ll be at the forefront,” Arora asserted.
